What kind of Bay?

Alright, I have a 4 month old bay Racking colt and his momma a 5 year old Racking mare... Rusty(colt) is in a color changing stage right now, and it seems like his back, shoulders and neck are turning blackish... of course, his legs are trying to turn black, they're kind of striped in places, but solid black in others. I don't no if it is just because he is growing in his winter coat or he'll be that black when he is fully grown, What kind of BAY?

He looks like he's shed his foal coat now, so what you see is probably pretty much the colour he'll end up. He might change shade between summer and winter (lots of horses do) but he won't get much blacker now.

Some dark bays are born light and then shed out dark between 3 and 6 months, but since he's already lost his fluff, that's unlikely to happen now.
