Can you still buy mollichop? If so, who are the manufacturers?
If not, what is the 'modern' alternative?
There are a couple of horses on my yard who are dropping weight already (though it is still around 14/16C during the day and 7/9C at night), despite being rugged accordingly.
One of the horses won't eat sugarbeet, and so is getting half a scoop of rolled barley. The other is a TB, who gets the rolled barley as well as everything else.
The main diet (apart from grass [still out 24/7] and hay) of the horses is a cereal mix (flaked maize, roughage pellets and something else - not oats), lucerne pellets and sugarbeet.

Marksway (people who make HorseHage) do Mollichaff still.

yes they still make it and have a new one out that has nuts and stuff in it so is a complete feed.i personally prefer, the dengi range ie hi- fi and alpha a its in a bigger bag than the mollichop, the alpha a is great for putting weight on and they do one with added oil.

Yes Mollichop is around still - several manufacturers do it I think. Be careful though. The WH is a placid saint of a horse but swings from the chandeliers if fed anything with molasses in it. Barley rings/chunks are good for putting weight on - if your horse can take barley

I have a horse who I bought at the end of the winter last year and he loses weight big time. I have tryed all the usual stuff as he was losing and was asked to check out Simple system feeds. So far he is doing really well and the feed he likes. Many options to choose from with friendly staff who can assess the horses needs over the phone. I was told my horse would be wearing a rug by now and he has not needed yet because of this feed. This feed is great as natural and you can ride straight after feeding or straight after riding which I have and saving so much time already. Check them out I would not go back to any other feed. Hope this helps Mandy :)
