Hoof coming apart ;)

Okay, you know when your ferrier trims the hooves and he scrapes the soles down to that nice white looking surface....okay so the other day I was cleaning out my horses feet and I noticed that on her sole, it was chipping off. It totally peeled off on one side and it was down to that white sole. She was not sensitive and the next day the other half peeled off and today the other hoof did it????? What the heck, does this happen and is it okay!!!!

Bad pic I know but if this was her foot, the yellow paint was where the part peeled off!!! Like I said, she was not hurtin AT ALL!! Sooooo, any thoughts???

Sounds like normal exfoliating sole, old stuff dropping off basically. Could also be false sole coming off as the foot doesn't need it anymore (builds up sometimes if the soles are thin or the feet a bit short).

My vet came out yesterday and we talked about Breezys hoofs because she had a lot of chips in it and he said he did recommend using a hoof supplement something with a high biotin content in it so help her hoofs and also if you can find one with vitamen E in it is is good for their coat. I am going to try a supplement because I have never used one. Do you use supplements?
