ive never done it and i dont really knowanything about it!
but i think of it as a mix between handy pony curse and endurance / fun ride. basicly its just a long handy pony course which quite a few more questions of both horse and rider.
im sure there is more to it but i dont really no just thought i would try and help.
it looks great fun tho!

Yann and Bebe do a bit of 'BHS Trec' (as it should be called now in the UK!). PM them, I'm sure that they'll help you out :)

It's very interesting and I'd love to have a go once my moo cow is a bit more compliant :) Essentially there are different 'tasks' for you to do depending on what stage you're working at. Things like getting your horse to 'stay', mounting from the ground in a pre-determined 'target', going through water, small jumps, timed paces, orienteering ... loads of stuff.

I'd love to do it - I'm working up to it. It's a goal of mine to do some by next time, just for fun.

It's in three stages - stage one being an orienteering phase where you get given a map and have to cover a certain amount of ground in set times - there are checkpoints along the way which have to be reached within the optimum time.

Stage 2 is the 'control of paces' where you have to do a really fast walk and really slow canter in a narrow passage.

Stage 3 is the 'assult course' is what i can best describe it as - its like a hack with normal obstacles on the way such as steps, low poles, gates, crossing bridges etc.

The above is the 'technical' explanation, just mine :)
