Ok, last night went a bit better than the 1st 2 longe lessons.
I wasn't quite as " stiff " :p
She had me do a 360 in the saddle and a lot of stretching to loosen up.
I did really good at the walk and jog,,but when she had me go to the long trot I could feel myself stiffen up..I wanted to post ..she wanted me to "sit " the trot..I wanted to hang on ..she had me put my hands over my head...if she said relax once she must have said it a hundred times...any one know where I can get me some of that "relax " stuff ???
Today I start Yoga ..and weight lifting..I am hoping this will help with , balance, core strength and flexability...
Can't wait to see what she has in store for me next week.....

That "relax" stuff...

One of the things people tend to do when they tense up is to hold their breath. When you do things that prevent you from holding your breath, it tends to keep you more relaxed. Some people sing :) or recite the ABC's, or mutter constantly to the horse. If you're constantly drawing in breath in order to say or sing something, then you physically can't hold your breath. It can also take your attention off of being tense, too.
