Canter Caper

My horse is good at all the other gaits except the canter. He gets really excited and wants to gallop not canetr. Sometimes he bucks or crowhops. I can never slow him down, he just goes faster and faster. Any suggestions?

Rule out physical problems first. Does the saddle fit? Teeth ok?
Once all that has been ruled out make sure it's not your riding. Get someone else to hop on him and see if the same thing happens. Does he do it while on the lunge? Or just undersaddle.
Could you give me some more info on his training and age and stuff?
