Oh well done you! That is fantastic and it will all help your bad back too.
I didn't want to start the thread this week as I've been away for a nice weekend break and eaten allsorts of goodies. At least there was a pool so I swam both days. I'm keeping off the scales this week, but back on my healthy eating today. So far have lost 9lb, plenty more to go.
I too have back trouble and will be seeing my osteo on Thursday, for the first time in ages, so it must be improving.
Heres a nice healthy pud: delicious Yeo Valley Natural Yoghurt served with a small dollop of set honey and a touch of tahini, add a few slices of banana for good measure, yum!

as we're approaching christmas, less people are posting - is this a good sign or a bad one ??!
Had quite a neutral week - neither good nor bad. Don't know weight as don't have scales at home and refuse to weight myself with clothes on when at parents (it'd depress me !).
Still eating reasonably healthily tho other half tends to go for meat rather than fish (and we have both in the freezer), so I have to work on that. have fish in lunch so will get some omega 3 into my system :D
Am using a smaller plate for dinner, but realise I then I have to resist the temptation to go back for seconds as 2xsmall plate is probably worse than 1xbig plate
Also have to watch "pudding creep" - the temptation to have dessert every day when its not really needed. Ok when its healthy - yoghurt and fruit (and after no seconds on the small plate ;) ). But not so good when its ginger cake fresh from the oven with cream !:p

I have been going OK but feel like I have stopped losing weight. I was 11 stone 4 about 3 weeks ago and will be weighing myself at the in-laws on Saturday to see if I have gone down to the 10 stone something mark. That means that between now and Saturday I have got to be a saint! I hope that i haven't put anything on.

My clothes are a bit loser but really hate weighing myself so haven't done for a while. Eating less too.

It is a hard time of year to do this, isn't it? But think how good we will all feel after Christmas when we haven't taken so many steps backwards.
I'm just back from the osteopath now, wondering how I managed to ride, quite comfortably yesterday, when there was so much to put right! No riding today and I'll be doing the field shelter and putting out hay very carefully in a minute.

Another 1 lb gone - so a total of 3! I am pleased. It is hard not to stuff your face with carbs in this cold weather though.

This is my second week and it's getting harder to follow than my first.
It's cold, I feel I want to eat something nutritious, filling.
This lunch time I lost my rag. I went shopping for my mother and I bought 2 loaves of walnut bread for her. Throughout the afternoon,I couldn't resist; I ate a whole loaf.:(
I just seem to hate the look of salads with this weather.
I'm veggie, I barely have time to cook, what can I eat that is filling and has no carbohydrates?????????????????

Well here in the US, it's Thanksgiving. This has meant a day of completely stuffing my face on berry pie and sweet potato souffle...... To add insult to injury, I quit smoking two weeks ago.. Do I even try to control the weight at this point?

Ive been doing terribly. I seem to have put on weight not lost it.
Ive got to lose at least 3 1/2 stone now.
I've decided to go and see a dietician as I have accute IBS so hopefully she will tell me what foods to avoid. I might even go and see a hypnotist as there is no way I have the willpower to do it on my own.

Am down to 10 stone 13 pounds - almost a stone since September. My new aim is to be 10 stone 9 pounds on Xmas eve. Thought that it would be the best idea to weigh myself before Christmas!

good luck :) IBS is a bit of an incentive I imagine - but could the weight gain be related i.e. does it affect fluid retention etc ? Do get some expert advice...

I am doing ok now. Was on a plateau and not losing anything however summer is here and I always do better at controlling what I eat when the weather is warmer, so I shall make the most of hot weather:D
Today I was doing some excersises with my daughter  anyway she hauls out a skipping rope and said come on mum have a go! Well I have not skipped for years and was appalling at it too:o only managed to do five skips in a row:o :o and I was exhausted after those five skips - anyway the challenge is out and I shall practice my skipping and try and manage at least 10 skips:p
Anyway my skipping was appalling but it did bring about a lot of laughter and that is always good for the soul. Mysty was looking at us from the paddock with such a superior look on her face and the dogs were wondering what on earth the large lady was trying to do:D My daughter says to me mum I am now so embarrassed to skip in front of you in case I hurt your feelings:D :D

hey yph!!! Well done honey!
I've been a bit busy yard has moved and we've been robbed 3 times! so as well as looking after 3 neds and getting Banjo back into driving mode after our crash this summer, I've been putting up fencing, clearing away crap laying rubber matting and stacking hay. Not to mention shopping for replacements for stolen gear:rolleyes:
So sorry havent posted on any forums lately more than a 3 word answer but I'm knackered!!!!!! Good news is I dont have time to overeat and I'm back in my full chaps which I couldnt even get above the knee last year *takes bow*
This weeks recipe is unashamedly comfort food and an excellent cold cure---
Roasted Garlic and Potato Soup
Roast 2 whole heads of garlic in oven at 180 degrees for about 20 mins until they feel soft. Set aside and allow to cool.
Peel 3 medium size potatoes and cut into cubes, sautee in the pan you will make the soup in with a little butter and/or olive oil over a medium heat. When they start to colour, squeeze the cooked garlic cloves out of their skins with your fingers and add to the potatoes, reduce heat and mix together.
Add 1 1/2 pints of good quality veg stock (I like Marigold Bouillon) salt and pepper to taste, bring to boil then turn down and simmer until the potatoes start to disintegrate.
Even confirmed garlic-haters will eat this, and it will warm you up after a hard day at the yard.

Just wanted to come in on this thread - as a lifelong yoyo dieter ! I've been unable to summon up the motivation to diet for myself recently, but have lost 10 lbs since the summer because I keep thinking :"Every pound off is one less for my big, gentle RS horse to lug about ". Every biscuit is a strain on his legs and every chocolate a weight on his back - this is the best incentive I've ever had ... hope it sees me thru Christsmas:o

Well said Liz, we all need to hear that.
My healthy eating is struggling a bit this week but I did get to the gym and swimming today, plus struggling about in the ice with my wheelbarrow full of hay or poo must burn off something.

OK I have been reading this thread and I'm encouraged by everyone, but today I just had to post. I live in the US and Thanksgiving has just come and gone, Christmas fast on it's heels. I started to diet in Sept. I was having health issues, Cholestrol going up as well as the price of medication to keep it down. My feet were killing me as well as my hip. Just think how my poor horse must of felt. With Christmas coming, I'm driving back home to see my family. Haven't told them I joined Weight Watchers. Before I joined my cothing size was 16-18 with a good push to 20. Today I had to shop for clothes for the trip home, nothing I have fits anymore. I'm pleased to announce, the pants size I bought were a 10. Since I have dieted oftened and failed I didn't tell my family what I'm doing, I plan on surpirsing them next Fri. But I had to tell someone or I will just pop, thanks for listening

Not loseing weight but I got in 36 hours of exercise in 9 days! Should be loseing something soon, I don't weigh myself but I imagine I have lost 2 pounds this week. I am eating half of what I used to eat! My horse has gotten plenty of exercise this week! 4 hours one day, 8 hours another... of course not all riding! We have been cantering, galloping, and I just started jumping him! I am going to lose weight the fun way! Also, my puppy needs 7 hours of exercise a week, so that will help me lose weight.
