How far apart should trotting poles be?

hello!
I guess Justin is about 15hh? In which case they should be about 2 1/2 normal human strides apart. If you set them up like that then go over them a few times, you will be able to see if they are too close or far apart by where he puts his feet - it can really help to have someone on the ground to help!
bye!
Ooh, I forgot to add, that spacing means that he will stretch with the same leg over the pole, eg his left diagonal will be used over the pole then the right one has an easier time on the flat between the poles. If you put a pole between the poles ont he ground, he will work both sides of his body equally.
I hope that is clear!
