Anyone had any problems this year? My mare point blank refuses to eat her feed with it in. Same food as before. I have never had any problems in previous years. Have they changed the formula or is she just being cranky?

Hello Artemis. Lots of horses won't eat Panacur Guard so yours is not unusual. I've never used it with mine I have to admit. They get Equest for encysted redworm.

She always has before, that's why I was wondering.
I have given her some equest, but with great reluctance because of the multitude of adverse side effects reported. No s/e yet!

The only problem I had was that it didn't work, my filly was also vey reluctant to eat her feed with it in (guess that was the end of last year though) but worm counts show it didn't do its job!!

I have had more problems with Equest than Guard. With equest it was the design of the old style syringe, but they also tended to spit it out.
I have one who has it in her feed others I dose with the syringe.
What I have often used instead of the feed it to put it inside a bun/roll and that often works better.

I have arthritis in my hands so have great problems with the syringes. They are just too long for me to manage.
