I hope this doesn't sound too daft :o

I'm looking for a cob to lease next year - so obviously I'm shopping around now - I've seen the Safecobs website and their leasing terms seem very resonable.

I've noticed in looking at horses for sale and at Safecob's site that cobs are often titled 'super stamp of cob'... wha? I'm assuming this is a good characteristic/trait/bloodline but I'm not sure what it actually refers to?

Can you put me right please...

means a strongly built thumpy cob with a big bottom, huge shoulder, good neck i.e. a well made horse showing the characteristics of a cob i.e .short neck, short back, short legs in relation to size of body, strong backside, good bone i.e. weight carrier, nice head but not too pretty pretty. should move powerfully!

stamp means type - it's just the word most often used.

Thanks Mehitabel - I've been wondering that for a while :)

with a big bottom, .....short legs in relation to size of body...

Sounds like I'm really well suited to a super stamp of cob because you could have been describing me there LOL!!! :D

xjodiex: Safecobs are a dealer with, from what I've seen, a very good reputation for bringing on safe, sane cob types for sale or lease. They have a website but I'm sure it's against forum rules to post here but if you're interested PM me.
