I know brown tack is correct and that is what I have, but I don't know what colour horse boots to go for if we're doing working hunter classes next year. Daffy is black, and his legs are actually black as opposed to orange (he bleaches in the sun) but I don't know whether I'd be better with brown to match his tack. I realise that if I don't get the right ones they will draw attention to his legs which may get us marked down on style, not sure just how well he can jump yet. I rather fancied the leather Sabre ones to match his tack, as the shade of brown would be spot on, and if needs be I could oil them darker.
Any thoughts?

if you have to use boots then go for the colour that matches his legs! remember though you have to take them off before the ridden section so you need to be able to remove them quickly incase you are the last to go!

id say match them to his legs aswell, because then the judges wont be drawn to look at his legs especially if he does a bad jump etc

I agree with both of the above, having the boots matching his legs will not draw attention to them, where as if there were a different colour in this case matching his tack it would draw attention.
I don't wear boots with Chance and if you can it is easier not to as you will have to remove them for your ridden section so your conformation can be judged correctly.
If you do choose to wear boots or you need to make sure you choose the style obviously most suited to your horse but ones that wont make his legs sweat although you won't be able to see this on a black horse you can really badly on Chance beacause she is very light grey. It makes her legs look dirty!

He'll get some black ones eventually.
Unfortunately with him having feather you can tell when he gets sweaty legs. The only reason I'll use them is because he's a complete novice and I'd rather he didn't do himself any damage.
