I am new rider so I might be talking a lot of rubbish but maybe the side on which your leg is itches him?

Hi
The Horse can't see your leg so he probably dosn't know he is squashing your leg. If when you push him over he goes of the track maybe it is just the track too near the rail.

HAVE YOU TRIED MAKING IT CLEAR THAT HE HAS HURT YOU PERHAPS HE DOESNT REALISE. TRY LETTING OUT A SQUEAL OR SOMETHING AS HE DOES IT. I KNOW YOU MIGHT FEEL STUPID BUT IT WILL DRAW ATTENTION TO THE HORSE THAT SOMETHINGS HAPPENED AND YOU DONT LIKE IT!

Maybe you need to use a little more leg to put the horse where you want him to be

It sounds like your horse may be crooked through the body, in which case, you need to push him more forward. Make sure he is in between both EVEN hands and legs.

Thanks to anyone who replied
Ahhh isn't it annoying!!!
does your horse do it all around the ring?
it happens with me in one ring on one side. I'm not the only one who this happens to and the general concensus is that the fence is not straight on that side and the track is straight. I sypathize with you if this is the cause because my outside leg expects to be bonked so it tightens which affects my riding!
