Falcon's only ridden about 3 times a week, so I clean the tack (properly) once a week - well approx once a week. On saying that, I haven't done it for a fortnight but he hasn't been ridden. Hope to have time to do it some time this week. Have a synthetic saddle which I vacuum but have a leather bridle which I take to bits once a week, sometimes once a fortnight.:D

shearer is ridden about 4/5 times a week, and he lives out so he isnt always that clean when i ride him, although i do brush him first of course!!

I don't remember the last time I cleaned my tack, probably sometime during the summer. I usually only clean mine whenever I'm going to go to a show. Bad me.

I only clean my tack when I'm off to a show! Or if it's caked in mud and sweat, if we've been hunting or whatever.
I do wash my bit off every time I ride though.. Well, when I remember.. LoL.

I clean my tack every fortnight and so that the leather doesn't crack or spilt.

Never ever ever ;) :D. But that's the joy of synthetic tack. It just goes in the wash when it's dirty and the girths get a hose down if they're sweaty or muddy. Saddles might get a wipe if i'm feeling uber-keen ;)

quick wipe over after each ride (very quick just to get the worst off as i keep it in the house) and everytime i have a show it gets a full clean. (once or twice a week during summer)

I feel very neurotic now, my tack gets a full clean after every ride. Everywhere I have ever worked has been the same so now I have my own pony the habit has stuck. The main reason for being so thorough is that it helps the tack last a lot longer.

I usually clean my bridles once a month, although I only soap the undersides and boot polish the topside. Means the leather stays supple but extra shiny. I guess that's the military background for you - everything has to be shiny enough to see your face in!!!!
Saddle is synthetic so I never clean that - numnahs and girth sleeves get washed every two or three rides depending on how sweaty Cossack gets.

 I feel so un-tack-cleaning now!! I only clean my tack once every 1-2 months. I do a proper full clean on them though. I often just give my saddle a wipe down with a cloth...ok, i won't lie to you, my sleeve :o. My saddle pad just goes in the washing machine every couple of weeks. Whenever my saddle is washed it goes all slippy(for my bum, not his back) so I don't like it when it's been washed anyway.:p

Quick wipe after every use, full clean twice a week.
Tack needs to be kept clean for a reason. It will degenerate if not taken care of properly and this can affect the way your horse works, not to mention it gets expensive to replace. Muddy dirty tack is not comfortable for a horse and it's just downright lazy not to. If you can't be bothered to clean your tack then think how you would feel wearing the same top for a month??

*covers ears* LA LA LA LA LA .....
ive had my synthetic bridle for just under a year now and have never cleaned the thing (i clean the bit though!)
i try to clean the (leather) saddle once in a while but im usually too lazy and just end up rubbing leathercare into it and just wiping off the girthstraps (dressage girth, small pony - gets dirty!)

I only clean it when I go to PC and I know the DC is going to be there!
And when I go to a show, which isn't really that often.

Probably once a month? And when i go to shows, or if it gets really filthy. Bit gets kept clean (but it's happy mouth, and there dead easy to keep clean), and numnah gets washed once a week. It never really looks dirty though, and it's never gone mouldy. Bandages get washed everytime there used though - so i'm not so skanky after all :p

Wiped over every day, and bridle is saddlesoaped, bit cleaned properly and girth cleaned.
Full clean (i.e. taken to pieces) once a week, or more if he's been doing more work.
Foxy's worked every day though, with no numnah (close contact saddle) and his tack gets filthy.
