Hi,

I am thinking of getting an impakt anti-slip saddle pad for Jester, the pony who I share. He is very large ;), and because of this his saddle slips alot. I have the girth tight enough, and it still slips to one side. Someone recommended an Impakt anti-slip saddle pad to help this. Has anyone got one and do they think they work? Also, would the cheaper anti-slip pads work as well (I saw this one on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7208287906&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 ) as the impakt one's, or is Impakt the best brand of anti-slip pads? Thanks for any help! :)

yep, my saddle used to roll on my pony

the impakt pad definately helps. not sure about other brands - the only other one i could recommend would be the limpet pad :)

Thanks Happiness. I haven't heard of the Limpet pad before, but will look it up now. :)

I have an Impakt pad for my horse - it certainly does the job! In fact, maybe too much! Once its in place, and the saddle is added, they can't be shifted, even if saddle is on crooked - you have to get off, move both & get back on.

I'd certainly buy another one if I had similar problems.

Thanks! The Impakt saddle pad does sound effective, I think I will order that. I just wanted to know if it really worked before buying it. :)

ive got an impakt, and had a limpet, basically the same thing.
used to work under my treed saddles, but i once lost the impakt under my treeless saddle, the saddle stayed put and i lost the pad out the back:rolleyes:

Anther advocate of the impakt pad..brilliant! My ponies' saddles always roll when I mount up, even when they're not looking like fat barrels, and the pad works a treat, I can get off to do an awkard gate and actually mount back up from the ground! :)

Thanks!! I am now trying to decide what impakt saddle pad to order. There is so many different ones, I can't decide :p. And does anyone know how the sizes work with the pads as well? Jester's saddle is 17.5", would he be a regular or large? Thanks

When I got my Impakt pad, I bought a standard size dressage one, as I have a 17" dressage saddle, and I had to send it back, as it was too small & get the bigger one.

So do you think the large would be needed for him? Oh, and another question, last one, I promise ;) . Does the Impakt pad go on instead of a numnah, or under your numnah?

they go on instead of a numnah.
ive got the standard size gp one and it fits pretty much everything, jumping saddles which are 17.5 inch and a 16inch and 17inch dressage saddles and a few gps that are 17 inch.

Thanks no angel! Although I think I might just get the large one, as he is 17.5 inch. If it is a little big for him, it will only be by a small bit. And I would rather have one a tiny bit big than a tiny bit small. Thanks again everyone for all your help!
