Hi,
Having only decided i want to look into a career with horses. I have been looking into different courses, but now admit to being lost in information. Looking to becoming an instructor, where do i start??
Thanks

To become an instructor, you need to either study for your BHSAI, which includes the stages 1,2,3,PTT exam +500 hours teaching. You can also study the ABRS teaching diploma, although I do not know much about that.
There are 2 ways you can study for these, either as a working pupil at a yard or on a college course.:)

Thank you.
Which of the two would you suggest? And do you know roughly the cost of this??
Thanks again

BHS are strict about what you are "allowed " to teach, "the BHS way is the best way" or so they think!:(
The ABRS are far more open minded about what you teach.
If you are happy with BHS methods go with them. If you want to take the best from all methods go with the ABRS.
The ABRS have an Initial Teaching Award and a Teaching Diploma. You have to work up to them through other qualifications. They are at Queens Chambers Penzance, Cornwall. They are in the Phone book.
