Hi anyone know this tip!!! Use Mr Sheen furniture polish on tails it gives the same results as show sheen but a lot cheeper!!! Not on coat though i would vouch it being safe for skin.!!!
Also if your horse is going hunting a drop of baby oil brushed through the tail stops the mud sticking as badly

Be careful with products that have Silicone in it (made for horses or furniture) if you live in a place where the sun shines a lot (maybe not Nottinghamshire? :) ) because the silicone can really fry the hair and leave black tails red.

I totally agree with the use of Mr Sheen! Fabulous stuff.
And I'm sure the Nottinghamshire sun will be gentle on your horse's coat.

How can you tell if it has silicone in it or not? A lot of my grooming products don't have the ingredients listed(i.e. Show Sheen)

I've always used seaweed, garlic and oil.
I put a hair mask on his mane and tail for 15mins, and sponge a diluted conditioner (mix a little in a bucket with water) through his coat.
Do your final rinse with cold water as well, hot water damages the hair, but cold makes it all sleek and shiney. If you dont believe me, try it on your own hair :p
Getting them sweaty is good for shine, but sponge it off with cold water or they'll bleach in the sun.
I very very rarely use an actual coat shine, after all of the above I find I don't need to! :D

hi cvreagzayn! (hope i spelled your name right!).
Most (if not all) companies will provide the customer with a list of ingredients. I'm not sure under what ciscumstances, but I had to do it some time ago for a workplace COSHH assessment (health & safety), and they were more than helpful. :)

I didn't know you could do that with furnture polish.
I've never used baby oil on a horses tail before but I've used Baby Oil Gel on the Muzzle.:)

another good one is a dab of baby oil or show sheen on hocks of grey horses , helps prevent stains from grass and other things !!

What hair mask do you use? Is it a human one or a horse one? x
