hi to everyone on the forum!

I'm so happy, I've had the best news. After not being able to ride for six months cos of a tendon injury in my leg the doctor says I'll be OK to start riding again soon! whoopee! :D

I had only been riding for six months when I hurt my leg and it put me out of action, so I suppose it will be like starting all over again! oh well, at least I remember the mistakes I made first time round and won't be doing that again!

I'll have to find a new school as I was riding when I was at uni and I'm back at home now, but that shouldn't be a problem.

I just hope my jods fit after 6 months of sitting on my bum!! :p

Thanks Mandy, your right I can't wait!

I was wondering if anyone else had had the same problem, I hurt my achilles tendon quite badly and couldn't ride because I couldn't stretch my leg out straight or keep my heel down as it was too painful. has anyone else ever experienced this, is there anything you can do like exercises to strengthen the tendon?

Thanks!!! :) :) :)

My advice would be to talk to your doctor re: exercises.
You dont want to injure yourself again.
Can you even imagine not riding for another 6 months or longer??

Take your time and dont try to pick up where you left off, it will be like starting over.

Good luck, keep up posted.

Glad you're back in the saddle again. Take it slow and easy and you'll stay there. Best wishes and Happy Trails!

ooh had my first lesson back today! and it was weird, but felt good at the same time, and it felt very familiar and not really like starting again!

I will take it slowly though as I have really missed riding, and couldn't imagine being put out of action again. thanks Hunter Girl I talked to my doctor and she said that riding would be good for my leg, and would help to strengthen it as long as I don't do anything harsh like running or footie I shouldn't tear the tendon again. Apparently swimming is good too.

Anyway, can't wait for Sunday when I am going for another ride! :)
