Anyone know of any cheap brushing boots? i need some for monster, as hes brushing slightly on the lunge. ive been increasing his lunging, because i want to get him fitter, and cant ride in the dark.
its only slight, but i dont want it to become worse, so ive started booting him up for lunging only. i already have 2 pairs of over reach boots (one spare) and i could do with a second pair (x2) of brusing boots. i have a full set of clarendons, but as usual, with moist sand, the wool gets all sandy. theyre then often not ready for the next use.
thats why i need a second pair! :D
i used to have barnsbys but they went with Snip. they were reasonably decent too. few chunks missing from the bottoms, but nothing major, unlike my clarendons which are totally destroyed (Snip!). thats why im no longer willing to invest in a decent pair of expensive ones.
so can anyone recommend any really cheap brushing boots?!:D

Try ebay obviously :D
Also, try equestrian clearance, i got some cheap neoprene ones with velcro wich do a great job.

You could always use bandages, and buy padding, which normally costs 50p a sheet. They always do a great job, if you know how to put them on correctly. I usually use bandages, but have some flurouescent neopreny things for hacking, and some gorgeous leather ones with fleece for when were feeling posh. Thats just murphy though. He's the spoilt brat of the bunch. Byron doesn;t have any yet, and coco has the cheap neoprene set. Murphy is the biggest spoilt brat ever.

I find bandages quite quick to put on now - no longer than a minute a leg :D
But thats mainly because coco is lame every other day more or less, and coco is the biggest fidget ever, so if I can chase coco about and do it quick, the others are no problem :p
i think they look nicer too  Murphy and coco look gorgous in white bandages (but they are so impractical lol :p )
I have these boots. http://www.equestrianclearance.com/perl2/v2.cgi?page=/templates/details.html&productid=19478
Murphy and coco have a set each in red. There really quick to put on, can be chucked in the wash to clean, are secure, and look quite cute too. Murphy can brush when he's lazy, and they keep his legs nice.

the boots are only for lunging, although i rode him in his clarendons today though...http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d82/paddymonster/DSC00022.jpg i was planning on lunging, but couldnt be bothered, so i got straight on!!! hence the boots & overreach boots, that really are too small for him!! - will put my proper ones on him in future!! :D
oh and tomorrow should be the last time i EVER ride in that saddle on him again!!! :D:D:D - birthday on tuesday, and am getting a Kieffer Bonn. :D

Happy birhday for tuesday! green with envy about your new saddle. May invest in one for Byron though when he needs one. Which saddler did you use?

Woof are quite reasonably priced and used for the school horses , including the hunters, on this yard and seem to stay put on the worst drag line. The yard recommend ones with double velcro (hook and loop) fastenings as leather buckles are difficult to undo when caked in mud. Woof are washable too which helps stop rubbing if they are kept clean.

woof club boots would do the job. they are about £20 a pair.

I lunge in woof wear club brushing boots, had them for ages and they've lasted really well. For jumping I got some derby house brushing boots, the stricking pads are pretty thick and the boots look really nice! They've £16.95, sometimes they do offers like 2 pairs for £30. Not much choice in colours though, black (they're the ones I've got), white, black with baby blue velcro or black with baby pink velcro. Black's the best because you can hardly notice the dirt :) hope this is some help! x
