Went to the feild to bring Po in to find he has a swollen eye, looks like he has got it kicked, he is always playing with the other geldings, anyway gave it a good rinse with the cold hose pipe to irrigate it and hope the cold will reduce the swelling, now what I need to know is, is it ok to use Optrex on it tommorow to flush it and put Brolene ointment in which I can buy for humans from the chemist, anyone ?
Oh, do you think it will be ok to ride him this weekend, walk and trot only ?

Heya,
Yes he may have been kicked or banged it on something. This happened to my horse, she came in from the field with a swollen eye which she could not open. I got the vet out and they said that she had probably banged it on something. It soon went down over the next few days. Im not sure about riding though.
Hope this helps

Thanks fern for your reply :) , I moved posting to Mature section titled " I'll try on here then" where I normally post stuff if you want to follow how things go as didn't get any responce on this section, he's fine now, swelling went down overnight.
