Nicky cut the back of his foot, from the heel about 2.5 inches up, quite deep! Has been bandaged for a week and is looking wonderful the gap is closing up quick, and no infection. :D no problems at all. it has to be bandaged for one more week yet to keep flys off and to try to prevent proud flesh developing. He hasn't taken a lame step yet and has even been racing around his paddock when he's ment to be on restricted movement until the bandages are off.

He is for sale, and I would like to offer him to the people intrested in him ASAP im moving back to uni in a few weeks and can't take him with me. (if we were riding for champs he would be off to a trainer)

So does anyone have any ideas when it might be suitable to start riding at a walk again? It will be three weeks before any real work can start and before ill let him leave my care, but id like to start walking him once the bandages are off?

not until the wound is closed and solid enough that you don't have to worry about it getting dirty and infected - it is in an awkward place that moves a lot as the horse walks, so working before it is fully healed with mean it'll keep opening up as he walks and take longer to heal, and leave more of a scar.
