.....TC needs to see a chiropractor as he can't seem to canter on his right so I was wondering anyone can recommend one?
Also, I've been told to avoid McTimoney practitioners in favour of those trained by the Oxford College of Chiropactors....
Anyone?

yep,
Ian Miller. I think he is associated with the McTimoney branch of chiro's, but he may not be the person that you've had bad reports from, there's a huge range of Chiro's under this association.
He's brilliant with horses and Humans. He's based in Guildford and I don't know how much he travels but it's worth a try. 01483 304744 I know he charges ata starting cost of £35 per horse plus travel.
If that fails, contact Gavin Scolfield (search the web), there's not much that beats him, he's based in Kidderminster though and bit pricier!

I'm not in the same area as you, so can't really help - I have used Gavin and he is very good; my regular chiropractor (Steve Webb) was McTimoney trained, as was a human one I used, and both were very good - this sounds like someone had a bad experience with one and has blacked the lot...

I was bit hunting the other day, and (after a very long conversation that went a bit sideways) was recommended a chiro by the name of John Conifey (I've got his mobile number if you want it). The lady was a saddle fitter that's worked with a number of chiro's and he's the only one she now uses.
Also, do you definitely want a chiro? We've had a physio to Fifi a few times and she's done wonders for her....

"I've been told to avoid McTimoney practitioners in favour of those trained by the Oxford College of Chiropactors."
Did they say why?
Not heard this before....Oxford College Manipulation course is just one year where as McTimoney is 3 year course - logic would suggest Mctimoney college would be more indepth ...but I have absolutely no knowledge myself so just wondered why?

Perhaps this site would be of assistance to you as it has a list of good chiropractors by area:
http://www.myprimebuyersguide.com/listings/health/chiropractors/santa-clara/mountain-view.html
Not many chiropractors work on animals, but the site offers info about each practice and their expertise so you can find the best chiropractor to work on your horse, and even read testimonials and such! Hope its helpful :)

I can't personally recommend a good chiropractor as I've never used one for my horses, but this site has a list of chiropractors as well as background info on their specialties:
http://www.myprimebuyersguide.com/listings/personal/chiropractors/napa/napa-valley.html
I hope this site helps you find the best chiropractor for your needs!

I can recommend the Brighton School of Equine Osteopathy, they may be able to give you the name of an Equine Manual Therapist in your area. Failing that, Gavin Scolfield is excellent.
Este Van Heerden (ESMT/EASO Dip) covers Brighton & South East Areas, her number can be found on www.equi-therapyuk.com on the Find A Therapist page. She is an Equine Osteopath & Sports Massage Therapist.
Hope this helps.

Hi
Can thoroughly recommend John Conifrey, but unsure if he is taking on new clients as busy with the show season & his current clients. Worth a try though.

Can't help you in your area but I must say the greatest success I have ever had has been with Mctimoney

Can't help particularly with Horse Chiropractor, but with Human variety I have used both types of Chiropractor, and find McTimoney far superior, and far more effective.
Cheers, Midori
