at the moment we have a dressage ansur on our cob, hes very happy in it, and it fits him beautifully, most of the time we are very happy in it aswell, but mum has mentioned she cant get leg contact with him, and even tho i like a saddle without a twist, its really starting to hurt me:eek:
i can ride him comfortably in my konklusion, just seems to be his saddle.
can the sbs adapt for a wider twist?

also, i prefer my kk for general riding, it feels really odd riding in a dressage saddle, ive also noticed that my mum seems to ride better in the kk.

It's all in the hips :)

I wouldn't touch an Ansur with a very large bargepole but that's more to do with morals and behaviour of the company etc than anything else!

The SBS and Fhoenix do have a twist though they still feel 'wider' than a treed saddle. I've not had a problem because I'm quite bendy anyway but I know that others have felt some discomfort until their hips stretch. The hips stretching is a GOOD thing, though, but it depends on how you're made up. Some will never have the flexibility in the hips to cope with a saddle without some form of a twist.

What is the problem with Ansur - I am intrigued as am considering their saddles?

Me too - what is a twist?

a twist makes the saddle feel less wide basically.

some people dont like ansur as they sued heather moffett. no problems with the saddles at all, they are lovely.:)

SBS does have enough of a twist to help. I've never ridden in an Ansur ( :spit: ) but did try another type of treeless without a twist and felt like I was doing the splits on the porky one when I was quite comfortable in my SBS.

If the twist is the only problem with the ansur Heather Moffett has designed an 'ironic twist' seat saver especially for Ansur saddles to help with the lack of twist problem. Don't know much about them but have seen them mentioned on the EE website.

search on EE for ansur and all will be revealed - basically a patent dispute. As has been said - their method of dealing with fair competition from Heather left vast amounts to be desired, and earned them no friends at all, I gather, amongst the equestrian community in their own country, let alone anywhere else ....
