I'm afraid I don't understand why the entirety of Smartie's saga was deleted; a lot of us are fascinated by it and I'm sorry it doesn't make sense to me to delete that.

Same here! I have always been fascinated in finding out how people bring on horses that are called "project horses"

I think it may have been moved to the Richard Maxell website.

It's not there anymore either. I believe that it was withdrawn by Caroline.
To be honest it's probably best to let this lie and the parties involved sort it out for themselves. The whole debacle is unfortunate and shows how things can get out of hand when you're not face to face with someone.

I'm intrigued! But as usual I've missed the excitement!

it is sorted out.
I know why the post that was objected to was deleted and can entirely understand that.
I just don't know why they deleted all about Smartie as well, that's the bit I don't understand. Parts 1 - 4 are still available in their original place ...
(and it is still there on richard maxwell's forum, but I don't think is going to be added to.) Stella, Smartie's story is fascinating, a youngster with unknown vision problems resulting in him being bullied in field, seriously misunderstood, whatever, and how he is being retrained/schooled. you don't need to know the rest, I don't think!

That does sound interesting. Well, I wish the owner luck with him.

Was it a request from Caroline that they be deleted or a decision by the moderators?

there was, as I understand it, a request that one particular post be deleted - as I said, I can understand why that request was made and it deleted - but I don't understand why all that part of Smartie's story that had been posted here, was also deleted. That's the bit that doesn't make sense to me at all ...
in one way, it is now academic, as it is, after all, gone, and I gather will not be continued online.
oh well.

Claire,
I think you should let it go. It was a sordid story, that left a bitter taste in my mouth. For me, it was a great eye-opener, to understand how our little "virtual world" works
Anyho, it is over we all draw our own conclusions from this sad story.
My advices will be :
Watch what you are writing, about who and what
Does not stop me posting, but I am carefull ...

I can understand why that one post was removed, but I am another to wonder why the entire Smartie's thread was removed here as well as on EE. If there was a rule violation, which one exactly and how was it violated so I may avoid it in the future?
I've been around online to understand how it works (going on 11 years now), but I've also learned to politely ask about their reasoning.
If it was a well thought out response to a complaint, they normally can explain it quite thoroughly and completely. If it was not, either there is no response or they simply lock the thread. Both are very informative as to what's going on.
Therefore I'm going to ask until I either get a response (PMed if necessary) or told to quit by a moderator.
I'm sorry if I'm annoying, but I am very concerned.

Can't actually answer the question because I don't honestly know. But I suggest you PM Mike if you have any concerns. :)

it has NOT been deleted from EE; you have to search for over 30 days old, otherwise it wont come up, but it is still there. I would hate to think that anyone thought that was the case, it isn't and anyone can go read it.
