Does anyone know if Carl Hester offers lessons to the public? I can't find anything that suggests he does but I've got a friend who competes BD Advanced who would love to meet him and have a lesson so I'm trying to buy her one for her birthday - I'll just go along and watch with my chin on the floor:o :D . If not, does anyone know of any really good dressage trainers who offer lessons (above at least medium but ideally advanced)?

Dont know about Carl but his trainer certainly does. Only takes pupils who are competing at least Elementary. Cant remember his name but if I remember correctly he is based in Leicestershire. Will ask my OH as she had a lesson with him a coupe of years ago

Hi DavidH

Know this thread is v.old now but if you could find out the name of the trainer I'd be really grateful! Friend's birthday has been and gone but now I'm after some professional dressage lessons so recommendations would be great!!:D

Damian Halem is based in the South I think and he does clinics. I would think that any that do clinics may be willing to do a private lesson. Oh, and what about Kira Kirklund or Jennie Loriston Clarke. I think they may do private lessons and one with either of them would be fantastic :)

I don't have contact details for them I'm afraid, but you could google them!

Pammy Hutton does dressage lessons at Talland, her riding school in Gloucestershire and dressage clinics elsewhere. My friend has had a couple of lessons with Carl Hester, but this was organised through Hartpury College so im not sure if he gives lessons to the public.

Carl Hester does do lessons - or at least he did, as a friend of mine went to him occasionally. I don't know how you go about organising them though - have you tried asking BD? So does Ferdi Eilberg, who is based between Birmingham and Redditch...

I guess you need someone close enough to travel the friend's horse there ? So Devon would be a bit far ?

He gives a few at hartpury for the students as volvic said, and im sure he does give lessons to the puplic.

One of my friends had one with him on one of his old dressage horses that is a hartpury (jelly) and she really enjoyed the lesson and the bit that i watched looked good
