Has anyone tried more than one (or all :) ) of these saddles and can compare them?

Have you got a link to the McKinder? Never heard of it :)

I've got the predecessor of the Fhoenix (the Flexion SBS) which I love. I wouldn't touch Ansur with your bargepole but would be interested to have a look at the McKinder.

What's wrong with Ansur?

Has the Ansur got a channel for the spine - I havent seen one but from photos it doesnt look like it. Also, the front looks like a ski jump - what the  keeps you on going down hill (as a Parelli student, thoult shalt not grip with thy knees or brace against the stirrups (unless in grave danger of doing an 'Eddie the Eagle' imprersonation;)

Also is 'the bargepole and the Ansur' because of the product itself or the business with Heather?

Thanks:)

Also, yes, so many questions.....what is the difference between the old Flexion and the new Phoenix (apart from being able to sell it in the States) ?

Their business ethics. It doesn't matter who they did it to, they were using bullying tactics and have limited to the market for all horses and owners out there. I don't give my business to people like that.

I like truly treeless saddles and was lucky enough to get one before the whole Ansur debacle. If I were in the market for a truly treeless now I would be very limited in my options thanks to Ansur.

Thanks for the link, btw, I'll go and have a look now :)

ive got 2 ansur saddles, a classic and a konklusion.
there is absoulutly nothing wrong with the saddles, just peoples views on the company, but i personally wouldnt let anything like that get in the way of owning a beautiful saddle.
the classic doesnt have a gullet, but the kk does, so does the new carlton.
ice had no problem going down hill on teh classic, it has a deep seat, it doesnt hold you in position tho unless you use the large knee blocks, but i dont like being held in position anyway, also has a wide twist, which on our wide horse is w.i.de! we use and sbs seatsaver on it and it seems to life you up just enough.
the kk is my own personal saddle, and i love it to bits. its a jumping saddle so forward cut, but ive been using it as i would with a gp, same as the classic really.
ive hunted in my kk and im planning on doing endurance with it, ive got my first 20 mile training ride in march, weve done le trec with them, and pleasure rides, aswell as lots of hacking up and down steep hills, and one steep hill where murf decided he was going to stop and have a pee:rolleyes:
heres some pictures of them-

The Fhoenix FA is half treed - the old Flexion SBS was totally treeless till Ansur got in the way.

IMO, The Ansur saddles are horrible looking, horrible quality and their business and work ethics are dire. And their prices are obscene!

I've never heard of the McKinder saddle before - looks interesting!
