That's what we had to do at our lesson this weekend.

At a halt, with NO STIRRUPS, we had to sing happy birthday before we could sit down. So the thing is, that OH started singing like he had all day!!! He is naturally slow but what was he thinking?? So I kind of drowned him out singing much faster and then we got to sit down.

Didn't do me any good because then we had to sing it twice before we sat down. Then we had to go around the arena doing the same thing but OH got to take his stirrups back and I didn't - why??

Needless to say, my legs were sore.

Oh, and if anyone remembers my post complaining about my lessons, things are going much better. I want to start taking a lesson during the week after work (almost wrote school!) but it's hard for me to commit to get out of work on time consistently.

It was fun! I kept trying to sneak in dirty looks to OH but he never "gets" anything.

We then did some figure 8s but while circling to the left, my horse always slowed down to walk. Now I need to figure out what I was doing wrong. I asked my RI but she said the horse was just stiffer on that side. I can't accept that answer- I wish she would just say "because you're doing everything wrong!" That would be more believable.

Either she thinks you can handle more or she was trying to get you back for cheating by singing the song too fast.;)

I'm so glad to hear things are working out better with your lessons. It was sounding very discouraging for awhile.
