Moss is notorious for having strong views about what goes in his mouth. Stainles steel he loathes with a passion. .....So I bit the bullet and bought a german silver weymouth set for him. He goes beeee-autifully in it. Now is his lightness due to the bit, or how much is due to me being very careful because he has a double. I am used to double reins, pelhams etc so that is not the issue. He pulls faces with his stainless steel rugby and chews rubber pelhams for lunch! He also likes his non ss snaffle but tends to set his neck and run through it if what I ask is not what he had in mind to do!!!!:D

Does it really matter? as long as it works! It sounds like it could be a combination of both! Good job on getting softness!

had you tried in a stainless steel double? petal will not tolerate any type of pelham, she headbutts me in the nose at the slightest contact, but is happy in a double set.

Mossy - couldn't you test this by just using the snaffle ? I know they are thinner than the regular snaffle, but for a quick test without extra expense ?
