Mark Rashid's 'Finding the Try' has been reissued on DVD in a form that can be viewed in Europe.
Has anyone seen the original tapes? cvb? And have any comments on it?

Can I ask why you specially want to be able to buy it in the UK?
I cant be responsible for the financial decisions taken by other people. But I have bought a lot of my NH stuff and other USA published books from the USA. It is often cheaper and quicker to get American books and music from amazon.com than it is to order them via amazon.co.uk. I also use second hand book dealers in the States. Bought my John Lyons stuff that way.
The way I do it is to pay with my credit card in dollars and my card makes a small percentage charge for converting that to sterling. It shows in pounds sterling on the Statement. If you have a credit card that allows you to pay for things in other currencies, you can buy stuff from all over the world.
You need to be careful that you do not give your card details in an e-mail or via any unsecured website.
Mark does not have a secure payment site. But he has now provided an order form that can be downloaded from his site, or Wendy will send you a copy as an e-mail attachment. The order form provides for payment by credit card and gives the cost of overseas postage. Some large stores in the USA do not accept payment with overseas credit cards. But Mark's wife Wendy who handles the business, knows I am in London, so I guess Mark will.
I believe it is generally thought secure to fax one's card details, or give them over the phone to a known supplier. We do this, for instance when travelling in the States. But each person must make up their own mind.
For anyone who was at the demos in December, Mark is also selling the Rocking S snaffle bit he was using.
Someone from Italy on this list wrote about the difficulties of duties on goods sent from the USA. Buying safely from the USA does depend on the postal services where you live. In my experience the Italian Post Office is not reliable. Packets to and from Italy disappear unless registered. But our parcels sent from the USA via the British Post Office seem all right.
When shopping for anything (including Mark's merchandise) you need to shop around. In the UK his books will probably be cheaper on UK amazon than they are on his site. But that doesnt mean that his DVDs would also be cheaper here. If Amanda or cvb or I, offered to import and stock Mark's range of dvds, that would be the moment when the prices started to rise. You have two lots of postage to pay, instead of one. Bulk orders might incur duties. I dont know, or ask cvb about her saddle?

hi Skib,
I have to disagree about the Italian post office. I buy all my tack via internet. Actually the Italian post is more reliable than private carriers.
I had problem with private carrier, who could not find our village in the mountain
But with the Post, even with just me surname and the town name, the post will deliver! Heck, we still receive mails from our 4yrs old previous address :o
My problem is that the import taxes. I bought some JL DVDs, I had to pay some taxes. One person bought the same DVDs, but did not pay anything  I am still ****ed off about it!!!
I agree we need to shop around. And to check with th elocal customs about the taxes!!!

Yep, that's my problem too! I used to buy a lot from the US and there was no rhyme or reason for the amounts that I had to pay. It didn't seem to go on weight, it didn't seem to go on value, it didn't seem to go on size. I bought a pair of custom ice skates and got stung for £90 (the skates cost about £650), I bought some skating tights which cost about £60 and got stung for £45  I've had other stuff too (Creme De La Mer skin care) and didn't get taxed a penny  It's almost like they get up in the morning and pick a figure, any figure ....

My problem is postal delays from the US.
Stuff arrives within a week or less from Europe - from the US it commonly takes up to a month or even more to arrive.
I need only pay regular postal rates to get my purchases promptly from Europe; even if I pay courier rates from the US it doesn't get here as quickly. So the difference in price is negated by the extra charges for carriage, insurance etc, AND it still gets here quicker from Europe.

I don't like ordering from other countries. I don't want to pay extra taxes and shipping costs. I don't trust the online ordering system between countries. I just don't like (and won't) do it!

I queried the costs the other day and was told by Customs that you pay duty for anything you import from the States over £18--you don't have to pay when you buy from the EEC-- trouble is you don't get much mule stuff from the EEC:(

My Rashid order is here, and it plays OK on our area 2 DVD player. Everything fine. Bit of a shock to see Rashid riding so Western, and using his legs in halt. (what price just an exhale cvb?)
And did you get a copy too?
