Hi
Haven't spoken for a while. Before christmas I was at a riding school when the horse I was on spooked big time and decided to dump me with a spectacular buck. I landed heavily on my hip but got back on again and walked him around. My next ride was on my friends beautiful arab pony (14.2) on a very windy day. There were three of us. We hacked down a bridle path to be confronted by a metal bird scarer making an awful sound. Horse one and two went off bucking down the path, but I managed to keep the arab relatively calm. To say I was scared and thinking of dismounting was an understatement. This really put a dent in my confidence and I didn't ride for about a month. But you can't keep a horse lover down. Not one to give up, I went riding again last Sunday. All horses behaved, but I had terrible trouble keeping my balance in canter. I kept slipping about. My jodphurs felt as if they were made of grease and she is a young pony anyway and not all that balanced. Would a sheepskin seat saver stop the slide? It is either that or get a new set of jodphurs.

a pair of half chaps or full chaps would help keep you from slipping:)

Sorry that you've had a couple of bad rides!

I wear sticky bum jods when hacking, the kind with the little rubber pimples. They really do work :)
