I know a girl at my school who takes horse riding lessons, so today I asked her where she takes them at. She gave me a website (mkbarfarm.com?) but I tried that and nothing came up. Does anyone know of any good lesson school maybe near Dallas/Fort Worth in Texas?

What's a reasonable price for lessons?

oh wow!

I've found a place (the one my friend was talking about) and it's only 10 minutes from my house! :)

Do you think $50 an hour is a reasonable price?

After 10 lessons if they feel you're experienced enough they let you rent a horse for $20 an hour to ride on their land.

:D

I don't really know about prices in Texas. In St. Louis I pay $30/hour for private lessons and I'm allowed to work with and ride the horses I show whenever I want (for free) as long as people who pay for them aren't riding.
Not sure if this helps.

There's no way I could afford $50 a lesson or the $20 just to ride for an hour without any trainers.

Why do you have to pay to ride if nobody is going to be teaching you anything? Just wondering.

I travel to Texas one or two times per month and plan a lesson at that barn in two weeks because they take out of towners. It looks really good, can you PM me if you try them out and let me know what you thought?

We pay $40 for a half-hour in Chicago - requiring some serious vagueness on my part with my OH. I am extremely jealous of CD2387 and world travel....

In southern California, we can pay up to (and probably more than!) $70 for an hours private lesson. Beat that :) I stick with the $40 for a group lesson for now!

Looking at the site, they actually charge $45 per hour private, if you a 10-pack of lessons. That seems like a reasonable price to me for a full hour private lesson that is at a barn with indoor facilities and in a very populated area such as DFW.

That said, prices vary so much depending on the region. Your best bet is to call around and see what other places in your area are charging for comparable lessons.

oh! i see that $45 part! thanks!

Yeah I've searched here around where i live and everywhere is $45-$50 an hour. I've talked with my mom and she said she'd pay, the good thing about this farm is that it's only 10 minutes from my house :)

now i just need to get some riding boots :D lol
