... sorry to disappoint :( Fate took a hand.
I took the morning off to ride at 9:30am but the snow at the stable was quite deep and falling heavily. The girl who was scheduled to give me the lesson didn't turn up until after 10! The YO stopped all turnout and brought the stragglers in. It was certainly too dangerous to venture out on the road for a hack and the sandschool was covered in snow and claggy which Megan would have hated! :(
I'd actually got myself quite motivated this morning then pulled back the curtain and saw huge flakes of snow falling  I think I must subconsciously will bad weather when I have a lesson scheduled as this is the 3rd consecutive attempt
Meg has also chipped one of her stripy rear hooves near the shoe :( and the nails are a bit sticky out so I've contacted the farrier and will arrange for him to come and see her. I've asked him to assess whether he thinks she will cope barefoot too :p
I'm willing a dry sunny weekend so I can get on my horsey! I'm determined now :p

Oh blast! I'm sorry, Imp- bet you were actively focussing all night last night- I was, couldn't sleep. We had yuk-ness, but it didn't settle.
You know, things work out when they're supposed to. So, next time, when the weather is OK, you'll be REALLY up for it, and things will go smoothly.
I waited 6 weeks, things v. frustrating, but have reached this stage(see yr LD thread ) at last. Now I'm concernd about ride No 2!!!!! Stepping stones across a wide river, that's how it feels
:p

At least it was beyond your control Imp - it's not as if you wimped out or anything. And the weekend is only two days away...:)

Oh Poo. Iwas looking forward to a successful ride. How annoying. We just have rain here but it stopping. So the horses are in and getting loads of grooming. :(

Sorry Imp, but you have to laugh. I had exactly the same thought today -- I've waited all my life for a pony, and just as I get (a part loaned) one, it starts to snow?! Since when did it snow in central London??!
Could be worse, though. My part loan's gone lame as well -- only the second time in her life, apparently.

Oh thanks for not calling me a wimp :D I was so motivated too *honestly* :D I had Wendy's mantra "I can get off if I want"
going round my head last night and it served me well :p
As Domane says the weather is supposed to be settled this w/end so fingers crossed :) I couldn't believe the level of snow on the ground at the yard and in the turnout fields, there's nothing at home 15 minutes away it just snowed, didn't settle
Neen, so sorry to hear your new horse is lame :( do you have any photos you can post to while away the hours until you can ride her?
Belle1 *squeaks* I knooow, and we made poor Belle be riden in that horrid snow too :( it was deeper today at the yard than it was when we visited you and that was bad enough weather!
Novice Nic, promise will get some pics of Imp and Megan in motion asap :D
Now, if you'd all focus on full sun and clear skies in Kent this weekend I'd really appreciate it because this is getting rather embarrassing now :o

Pah! Any excuse....;) ;)
Only joking... I'm with Neen... I feel like I've waited forever for Dolly and I to find each other, and just as we do, the weather turns pants:mad: I took a whole week off work too...grrrr!
Here's hoping for a fine, dry, sunny and unseasonably warm weekend for us all!:D
