Luv 2 Trot

Okie dokie, we have come to a conclsion at my lesson on thursday why i have been so tense when cantering. Well, all summer, Toby went with his nose to the ground and swoopy. So, canter was smoother. Now, he goes in some sort of frame, not the best yet but its comin', and now the canter seems bouncier. We found that i was so use to the swoopy english lope, that the actual canter makes me so "whoa" all over my body. Legs tense up, arms lock, mind goes blank, and Toby continues to go about his business.
Basically, i need help getting confidence in this whole cantering issue. I feel as though i am letting everyone down because of the fact that i did so well over the summer, cantered everyday the best, was very confident and never took no for an answer. But now, its all kinda gone....away. I hate this feeling, i have tried to syke myself up about it and go to each ride feeling brave and all, i am until the canter actual happens. Then kurplooey into the ground. :( All my "syked-up-ness" is gone. And i am in the world greatest saddle, huge knee rolls, smooshey deep seat, you cant go anywhere!! But its all funky now, i feel weird about it all. I really need advice, your all so good at giving it!!
