Hi, was thinking of starting some parelli with my horse, have looked at the websites n stuff but can anyone tell me where to start? Do you buy the level 1 pack and follow it, if so, where do you buy these things (in UK) online?

You could try e-bay - it says on the website that they no longer sell them in the UK (directly through the parelli website anyway).

Yes, you buy it and go for it :) . The first level is about 20 hours of DVD, with a lot of 'theory', some examples, and basically watching other people do what you need to learn to do. Then there are little booklets that you read as you watch the DVDs. If I remember right, you watch about an hour of vid and read a booklet before you get out to your horse. I found that it is watch, practice, watch again, practice again... etc. I use the program with my children as part of their science lessons, so we go through it fairly thoroughly. Some parts are a little unclear and it helps to have a real person to watch you and give advice, but i think you can muddle through without it. I had taken a live class first before I bought the DVD's and it helped in understanding, but they are pretty self-explanatory.
Ebay might be a good option, but their website -I think- has a UK version.

HOLD YOUR HORSES!!!!!
"Please be advised that Parelli Natural Horsemanship, Ltd. (a UK company now known as Equine Ethology) is no longer an authorized distributor of Parelli brand products or instructional programs in the above territories."
The above was taken from the US parelli website.
Parelli is going through a lot of changes in the UK at this current time. 'Parelli' is a US company, licensing rights to sell parelli in the UK was owned by a UK company that has now changed its name to Equine Ethology. This is due to a big fall out with Parelli in the US, at the 2005 parelli conference it was argued that the owners of this UK company felt that parelli could only reach a limited audience due to its association with an American cowboy, and for it to be more accepted by, for example, the BHS it should be rebranded as Equine Ethology.
Some members of Parelli have felt that they have been left high and dry to a certain degree if they want to carry on their parelli study as there is only one instructer, Inga Sailsbury, who is able to pass or fail your levels.
For more information on this I would recommend that you refer to both the UK equine ethology website AND the American website to help you make up your mind.
Hope this helps
