Nope. Saddleseat riders do typically wear hats, but they're just derbies - not safety helmets. I'm not even sure if any company attempts to make a safety helmet that looks vaguely like a correct saddleseat show hat!

thanks, hes a Saddlebred, and I got on by way of ladder... lol, a little one[basically a step stool] but it was still a ladder.

I think you look really good - i'm no saddleseat expert, but any all other piccies of saddleseat horses, they've always looked really awkward and tense - you look much more relaxed, and so does your horse - and it's lovely to see you smiling so much.

good picture, nice horse. His head's in the right place, and he's engaged. Depending on how 'complex', I should say, you may want to have his legs reach up farther.

We have a Saddlebred also at our barn, and she raises her legs quite high! I don't know if you are in a different division, I'm guessing they are, and I'm no Saddlebred expert, but you all look fine.

You guys look great together. It's so nice to see a picture of Saddleseat riders that looks relaxed and flowy instead of bracey and tense. I wish everyone around here would catch on that that is how Saddleseat should look, and then maybe there wouldn't be so many people doing icky things to Saddlebreds so they "look pretty."

anywho you look great! one thing, is that you are posting in your stirrups, widely spread in the saddleseat ring, but don't let the habbit follow you out of the ring...;) .

Also, put your feet maybe a half of an inch more in your stirrups, one little "hop" and your foot would of fallen out! LOL

hey, thats a really good picture. whats the name of the horse?? by the way whats your barns name, im from Iowa and I saw that the show was in minnesota so i might have seen your barn before at some shows.
The diagonals are the same for saddleseat, you rise and fall w/ the leg on the wall but when you are doing a victory pass you normally ride on the incorrect diagonal so you r sitting when the photographer takes the picture.
I also agree w/ friesiangirl that your feet could go a little farther in the stirrups but otherwise i think it looks pretty good!
