This week has been a cracker. Firslly we are desperatley seeking a loan pony for my 7 yr old nephew and we may have found his partner in crime. He is a 3 yr old coloured x approx 11hh should make 12 hh. Unfortunately he is unbroken but the owner states he is suh a little darling he wont take much to break him. I have my little rider on standby for gentle breaking and loads of love and kisses for pony. I have received a piccy of him in the post today and he looks a proper boys pony. He has 1 blue eye and his temeperament is to die for. Although initially we will loan him she says she may look at selling him only to a permanent home. Well I think we are going to be a perfect match. I am going to see him on Saturday. He lives about 2 1/2 hrs away but he sounds worth it.
Also I went out on a solo hack and all went really well. I groomed Captain and popped on his tack and preceeded to ride him in the menage. He did everything I asked of him but he just seemed a little bored. I was as well if I am to be honest. I did the wind test and thought blow it I am just going to take him up the road for 2 mins. Nothing too heroic just a walk. I got to the gate and of course there was a bag of cement jumping out at Captain. Then I got really brave and suggested we walked past the scary sheep and swans. Well Captain snorted a little and rasied his head into the clouds but I just breathed deep and got a deeper seat and pushed him on past them. Then I decided to be even braver and come home the way we walked out. Now this isnt such a big thing but this is when Captain usually bolts home. Remebering we still have the scary sheep and swans to pass. Deep breaths and loads of singing. A few circles of work to confuse him and not let on that we are going home too quick. :p A few strides away from the safety of our gate and I let go of the reins and gave him a massive hug. I do love it when things go well... I am chuffed to bits today..:D
