Ive just had my fourth half hour lesson, my last lesson was a real downer as I could not get the knack of kicking on in rising trot so my horse kept stopping. Also my RI got really fed up with me.

Anyhow today she realised that I had had 3 lessons not 30 as she thought!!! and apologised. She also put me on a different horse who I found much easier to keep going, so I kind started to get the hang on "pushing him on" as my RI put it.

I love this, and am now uping my lesson to an hour. Just thought I would tell the world how chuffed I am.

Good to hear your getting on well (although there is a big difference between 3 and 30  )

So I hope the new hour long lessons go well :)

Yeah she got confused as I missed one due to being at the Cup Final last weekend and someone else booked me in writing 30 instead of three. But she was only 27 out!!!! I hope I am much more able than I am now when I have had thirty lessons

sounds like you are getting on really well. I still struggle with the horses that need 'encouragement' to stay in trot! :) am finding being more assertive all round and squeezing when you sit (on rising trot) helps. :)

That really is a big mistake of the RI to make! but nevermind, at least they apologised! :)

Welcome to our world ;)

Where the North American (candian specifically) kids like me consider going on year-long exchanges to Ireland simply because Ireland is just amazing when it comes to the riding. Ah. We are the obsessed ones!

I'm glad to hear that and at least your RI just thought you were just being a dufus so you KNOW that your riding is better than *just* 3 lessons (if that makes any sense ;) ). It's good that she apologised :D
