Especially for my cyberfriend NoAngel :)
Have road tested the Indian Bosal bought off e-bay, its like a cross between a normal rope bosal and a x-under bridle ....

Archer goes well in it -he doesnt lean into it the way he can do when feeling lazy in the Dr Cook, I like the x-under action which is only under the chin so no pressure on the facial nerves in the cheeks. It gives more frontal brakes than the Dr Cook and for hacking its fab. Having said that he did p*ss off with me on Thursday  but I would like to point out in defence of the noseband the pony he was racing was in a snaffle and she didnt stop either! Frankly I could have thrown rocks at his head and he wouldnt have stopped:o (methinks this story deserves a thread of its own).
So in all I'm glad i got one its a nice well made piece of kit, Mac who makes them up for you is a pleasure to deal with (he has made a tiny one for Banjo!) and it gives a nice combination of hackamore and x-under action. Nice to have another bitless option.

I saw these and added one to my x-under bitless, i had a bit of a job adjusting the length so it worked on the x-under equally with the Indian bosal but it worked very well and stopped the bridle slipping round his face. (He has a roman nose and before it slid round even with suede round the noseband.)

Does it release pressure as quickly as pressure can be applied?

I wouldnt say it has the instant release of the Dr Cook but ned seems to respond as if it were releasing pretty much on cue.........I do ride with a slightly looser rein in this noseband.
Mac has shipped me a Shetland-sized one for Banjo in red. Cant wait to post the pic :D
