Hi i've just found a nose piece/bridle offered on that online auction site.
It consists of a nose piece and a chain curb strap, the reins attach to th epulley system which I assum puts pressure on the pole nose and curb.
has anyone used one/ or have info. very intigued, though looks like it could be harsh! any ideas

is that the equibridle one?
ive looked into them and someone who has one said they are actually quite good and not as harsh as you think it would be.

don't know what it's called but it has a pulled on the cheek piece attached to the reins which pulls down. just not sure if trying for £45 is worth it. she goes well in a hackamore (treacle) but i lack the finesse of a bit - though i do have comparable brakes.

i have a happywheel on my girl and a sidepull on my cob, i dont know about the 'finesse' of a bit, but my cob goes exactly the same bitted as he does bitless.
i like my happywheel, thats 45 aswell, but worth every penny imo.

might give it a go then, just get the feeling that a dr cook would freak her out.
by the way are you the lady who makes the bridles? if so are you interested in combining the hackamore with the dr cook?

i wouldnt say i make bridles,i do have a fiddle about with bitless bridles:D
at one point, before the happywheel, i used my dr cook with a hackamore, i used cheekpieces on the top hole of the dr cook cheeks and put the dr cook noseband on the bottom hole where it fitted, then i put a noseband sleeve over both nosebands, made a new hole for the cross straps high up so the cross strap ring short where the reins attach and used roundings from the hackamore and cross strap.
it did work well and i did my first show and fun ride in it, maddie finds the hackamore on its own too much and she leans on the dr cook, but together they were good.
i changed to the happywheel tho and shes just as happy in that, and its easier to put on. which the happywheel you can rebuckle the curb, nose stra and the cheekpieces till you get the right combination for your horse.
