View Full Version : HQ update

Hello! New saddle vg, lessons twice a week going well, Harley deemed 'a poppet' by RI and a 'quality mare' by experienced rider friend. HQ seems none the worse for her 6week hol., and the gap helped me regain my confidence after my wobbly beginning! Phew!!! Now stable neater than house, and horse better fed than we are. My hair has turned grey, not just with anxiety but cos never get time to plonk on the Recital.
I so enjoy everything about being at the yard- and we've had some spectacular sunny, frosty mornings. Feel like a kid again (a grey-haired kid).
I do actually have actual photos, actually-really and truly! BUT that BUCKET THING is not cooperating. All it does is show me a page of adverts and I can't access my pics or upload more. Has anyone else experienced this prob?

You both look fantastic, what a lovely picture, you look quite the jockey :D
It looks like it was worth the wait for you both and those sessions in hand have paid off dividends in your bonding... so happy for you :)

LD! What a stunning pair you both make. HQ is looking absolutely fab - so glad you are having a lovely time. :D
(nice outline with RI for one so young!) - you'll be doing dressage yet!!!

Thanks mateys for your lovely comments! I must say I was beginning to think I'd NEVER get up on my horse...still way too scaredy to go it alone without RI... guess it'll come.
I expect you can see my 60's training is still in place- hands down toes up etc. RI much softer- she's encouraging me to shake the 'military style', as she dubs it.
And yes, Domane, HQ does work nicely when RI has loosened her up, and she does all sorts of stuff which doesn't chime with the vet's recent pronouncement that she's RISING 4. We can't work that one out. RI says she can only think she had her butt worked off as soon as she came out of the field last year! (Quite a lot of her butt is still in place, prob too much:D )

...she can only think she had her butt worked off ....
Whereas, sadly I have had my butt worked ON..... judging from the size of it :D

Little D, she's lovely. What a lovely pic of the pair of you. Can't understand why the tan's worn off so quickly though.;) :p
BTW, I envy you your lovely school.

Hi Cazrider! Yes, I feel so lucky to have found this yard with a great school and rides around the farm(no roadwork if you are scaredy); weird, I've lived in this town 25 years and didn't know there was a horsey wonderland tucked behind the trading estate!
As regards the tan- dwahling, this apalling windy, cold weather has absolutely SCOURED it off me, SO distressing!

I think you both look really great - your position looks fab to me. Wish I could look half as elegant.
BTW, We have smaller fields than your school!

Ahh - those photographs were well worth the wait! HQ is indeed a lovely quality mare - look at her working in an outline, what a good girl.
You also look very happy and safe and secure on her, in fact, you even look like you are ENJOYING yourself. Fantastic!

Lovely saddle I might add;) ;)

By the way what breed is HQ? Is she the one you got from Julia?
