Being prepared here as the season of the midge is nearly upon us - in fact I saw some about before the cold spell last week!!!

I have a Boett for Moo which is great, but I wanted a cheaper but similar alternative as a backup for if (when!!) she snags it and it needs to go to the menders. Her new yard (new since November ) has more midge attracting water than last yard, and the other horses with sweet itch looked dreadful at the end of the season, so I don't want to risk not having a spare handy even though I can get it mended at short notice because I have a rug mender friend!

I don't want a normal fly rug, she has one of those and its useless for stopping her sweet itch. I want a boett style one with the belly bit and extra material on the neck etc.

I saw one in Derby House catalogue, did anyone her get one of those?
or does anyone know of or have a cheaper version - I have seen the Icelandics ones somewhere but can't find for the life of me where!!

Ta. :D

I've always managed to get away with a normal fly rug for Rhi. Prob a good job as she goes through them one a year

The IHSGB sell cheaper Boett style rugs.

There is a Swedish company on the nett too selling very good ones.
