Cleaning Geldings

I apologise if this has been brought up before and I have not noticed but I did take a look through the threads and couldn't find a relevant one.

I have always had mares, ALWAYS, but a few months ago (November) we purchased a little gelding. My question is how do we clean his private parts? I have been getting conflicting advice like just wipe him down once a year and put some baby oil on when he has extended but on the other hand have been told that he should be cleaned regularly, how regular? and that you should encourage him to extend but I am not sure exactly how to do that either. I check his sheath to make sure he looks clean and obviously wipe and clean around there and his bottom and he doesn't mind at all but I am completely confused and unsure about the rest of it.

Any good advice would be really appreciated! :confused:

Thanks very much you both. I found the Sheath Cleaning Directions and did end up with a laugh or two while reading. I don't know what he will think of me but it has to be done! Thanks again.
