Just switched to ponies

Hi,

I'm not new to NR but new to this particular bit of it.

I've just sold my 16hh irish sports horse in favour of a 14.2hh cob.

I've never really ridden ponies before so don't know what to expect when my little bundle of joy arrives (subject to tomorrows vetting) on Sunday.

I'm expecting lot's of fun and a fair bit of short strided bouncing!!

Ponies are great - When I get a horse of my own I want nothing over 14.2 but being 5'4" it's great and that the perfect height for me!:p

bit of the same situation as you really. I had a 15.3hh tb called Pride, who nearly killed me, so I swapped her for my exmoor :D :D :D

i love having my little un mind you she aint that little! Shes only 13.3-14hh but whenever anyone gets on her they are always like "shes soooo wide :O"!
shes so much fun though and i feel much happier on her than i would on a big 'un! I do getthe occasional comment about her being little im not short at 5ft8, but normally when people actually see us together they see we are a good match! Good luck with your pony :)

ha ha, hello you, forgot you would be invading this part of the site now lol :p your'll have a great time on your pony and dont forget all the shows and comps you can do being a pony owner :) oh no does that mean we will be competing together :p x your'll love it, so much fun

I do like ponies too. I rode a fantastic little buckskin mare last week, who completely looked after me, and had me on my first canter in over 8 months :D

Mind you Pinto is almost a pony! He is 150cms, which is just under 14.3hh ;)
