Today my dad drove me by the farm I'm going to take lessons from later around April and May. It's called M-Bar-K Farms, I really like it! (not to mention the drive, only about 5-10 minutes from my house!) The area was very nice looking, clean, etc.

I'm so excited! :)
Right now I'm saving to get boots :)

That's awesome! You'll have to let us know all about the lessons once you start, of course!

Are you gonna ride English or Western? Or still making up your mind?

And that's great that it's so close. My barn's about 25 minutes from my house. (Well some days less than 20, some more than 30. There's approximately 5 million traffic lights, so it depends on your luck. :p). There's a barn that's about 10 minutes from me, but I dislike it for various reasons, so I won't ride there.

Thanks for the replies! :)

I'm going to see if my mom will take me by again... and maybe see if we can go inside and look around a 'bit, maybe talk to the owners... :D

I'll update you later today about that!
And whenever I start getting lessons! :D

I think I've made up to my mind about Western, maybe later I'll try English once I've learned how to ride. :)

Oh yes, and that's what I love the most about it! It's only a 10 minute drive! :p :D All the other barns and farms I've researched were 45 minutes and an hour away

Awesome! I'll look forward to hearing updates when you start.

I started lessons when I was 28 years-old, but I was every bit as excited as you are to start, so I know the feeling.

That's great, you must be so anxious to start! I've been trying to schedule a lesson there myself the next time I visit Dallas, it looks like a great facility.

Have fun!

That sounds great. Are you just learning to ride or have you ridden before?
