For Sarah and Everyone: My Team Stuff, Etc.

Hello all! :)

Sarah,

Thanks for asking about the team; we're doing quite well this semester. Our show season started near the beginning of September and it ended October 31st at our stable. Right now our team stands at third out of the 13 other colleges and universities in our region.

At the Open level, one of our riders held out in first place the entire semester, but at the very last show a young woman from another school shot past her and now has an 11 point lead. Our rider is still in second though. :)

After the remaining shows for the 1999--2000 season I'll know who goes to the Regional and National events (cheer for us! :)), and I think we stand a fairly good chance. The Open Level Riders compete for the Cacchione Cup, which they'll earn at the end of the Spring 2000 semester.

There's a group that reports on the different types of sporting events at the collegiate level, but I can't remember their web address at the moment. When I find it I'll post it up so anyone interested can take a look at the all the equestrian news there. :)

Not only is everyone trying really hard to be a good team, but they're all very friendly people. It's LOTS of fun!! :)

If all goes well I'll be competing next semester (walk/trot, of course :)). Although we won't be hosting a show, so if I try it in the spring I'll have to ride another school's horses with their tack instead of our own. I'm hoping I'll do just fine!! :)
