it states on the barefoot site that the cantles of various models are filled with an 'elastic but sturdy' material ensuring the cantle area is free of pressure. is this a new thing? my barefoot's cantle is normal, 'hard' fibreglass.

looks like it! the cheyenne now seems to have a higher and softer cantle. i quite like the sound of that as i have an 'old' model, the cantle of which is not soft at all (but i might try stuffing it instead)

The cheyenne I looked at for Dolly a few weeks ago was new stock in (my local saddler sells about eight a week!) and that still had a hard fibreglass cantle and pommel- in fact it was one of the things I didn't like about it!
