I saw that, it was great. And you never know how many adult ex-riders might see it on the shelf in the newsagents and think hey, adults do ride ponies... and get back into riding, as I did after finding this forum!
Despite the fact that at my first attempt, I was told by the RI "You're an adult, you should be riding a horse"!

I bought the magazine purely for that article:rolleyes: It was nice to see some recognition of adults riding ponies, without the usual underlying 'but they'll come in to horses eventually...'!
However, overall, I was reminded why I generally DON'T buy these mags- every bit that I read left me either a) bemused because it was aimed at 'higher level' riders than me, or b) with unanswered questions because I wanted more depth:rolleyes:
I guess it was money well spent though- it reminded me just how lucky I am to have found NR... better than any magazine any day:D

hehe i stopped buying them as well, because there's hardly ever anything in there i'd find useful. i mean .... all fine and dandy reading about a lesson with a famous showjumper, but it won't help pony or i, will it :D
only thing that worried me a bit about the article was that they kept going on about how cheap ponies were to keep compared to horses ... some people might think we're just cheapskates who cant afford a big horse :D

I bought it just for that article too, I think I'm a pony rider at heart - Ziz is 15.2, don't know if I can loan or sell her so may have to get a pony as well :D .

Hurrah on the recent article they have realised that we exist at last, however i disliked the mention of ponies being a cheaper alternative than a horse (yes they may be hardier and have fewer running costs involved, but they still have vets bills ect) in my oppinion it made ponies sound a bit second best :( So it was not as positive as id hoped it would be. i think a regular pony/adult colum would be more in order, showing just what adult/ pony combinations can do. rather than the one off article

i subscribe to that magazine and i really liked the article - although it did make us out to all be pony-warrior hooligans :D (even though i am... :) )

I subscribe to that magazine too. Interesting and nonpatronising article I thought.
