Steaming hay

How do you do it? Is it better/more convenient than soaking? Just wondering because soaking is such a faff.

Put the hay into a bin with a lid, or a strong plastic bin bag, pour on a kettle of boiling water and seal. When it is cool it is ready to feed.

Hi,
Ive allways used on kettle of boiling water per section of hay. and to fluff out the sections a little before putting them in a dustbin with a tight fitting lid as previously mentioned.
Its much better than soaking hay in the winter as it doesnt freeze like soaked hay can.
