the one im looking at is a tagg, its called a bonn. this is the jacket http://www.derbyhouse.co.uk/ProductDetails.aspx?language=en-GB&ProductID=5200068&CategoryID=LadiesJack do you think id get away with it? the collar is a bit brighter than it looks in the pic.
i have 2 chesnuts (hunter and riding horse) and a black (welsh d) i should be showing, i might even do a bit with murf and susie (bay cob and grey section a) i have a black hat aswell, and my tie for my riding horse is purple and i have a blue silk tie i could wear with the others, tho i think ourple with the d would look nice

Which jacket is it No Angel, I'm guessing its a Tagg one. I've seen and tried it on (the one with the green velvet) and it's a nice jacket which I was going to buy (they didnt have the right size), anyway if it is that jacket then the collar look fine to me, its just how it will look with a blue hat that could be the problem :)
Edit- cross posted, but I was right :D, and just read you've got a black hat which may look better with the green

Velvet collars are fine for m&ms, ponies and riding horses, but tend not to be seen on hunters and cobs (because they are more workmanlike), but if you like it it's up to you. You'll also want to keep to the discrete tie for these classes (blue, green or maroon are poplular), something with green in it would go well with the collar. For showing a blue hat is better (or can be green with a green velvet collar), but black is fine for local but might not look quite right with a green collar.

You can always buy a navy or black velvet collar from Designer Browbands and have them swopped if you find it doesn't go with your hat. :)
