Well I'm off to the natural horseplayers playday on Saturday to make a complete fool of myself in public yet again:o . I'm already quite nervous about Saturday and its only Wednesday, should be a complete cot case by Friday night with all my "What ifs"! Equine Olympics - the note says "come and join in the fun, prizes galore - I have a excellent chance of winning the Booby Prize:D . I've done no ground work with Lindy for the last 2 weeks, revoltingly hot weather, fifty billion flies and a swollen face from a tooth I should have had fixed 2 years ago! Most of these competant and confident people will be riding their horses in these games, not me, I'll still be on line with feet planted firmly on the ground (unless she rears again:( ). I'll be bringing the Equine Rescue Remedie for Lindy and the Human Rescue Remedie for me. Is there anybody out there who goes to natural horsemanship playdays anywhere in the rest of the world, if so, I'd love to hear from you.

I didn't know there were PNH competitions. What do you have to do?

Hi Silvia and Dizzy,

Well I survived the PNH Olympics and I got a prize
:D . Its not a competition its just a day for fun, we had to do our seven games either on the ground or mounted, things like backing your horse thru a gate, serpentines, circling around a barrel, going over a small bridge (which I couldn't do), bobbing for apples etc - all just for fun;) . Its a great group of all ages and stages. My daughter is the youngest being 9 and I think the oldest is 63. I'm the worst one there, I don't even ride my pony but I'm sure I will get there one day. As usual she was the worst behaved one there, she came into season the day before and she was shocking, it makes me lose confidence when she's like that, she also can't cope when my daughter goes off to ride on her pony, she puts on a big performance. Some of the people there are so competant at everything, I just love to watch them, I've also found them very supportive. Oh also the most important news, my daughter Jenny won the online games, it made her day:D .

Hi Dizzy,

Thanks :D it was good fun. Don't you just hate it when your mare is in season:( . I wish there was an injection or hormone patch you could put on her bum;) . Its even worse when we both have PMS!

There is an injection your vet can give your mare to stop her coming into season. I can't remember what it is called but it works for about 6 weeks and then the vet has to give her another injection - I will be starting my mare on this in the Spring - she was in season over New Year even though the temps here were minus 7c !!

When she's in season she is the devil incarnate - when she's not I can ride her in the Parelli halter and she's a dream. Injections aren't cheap but I've got to try them cos I'm at my wits end.

Hi Speedy,

I'm going to check with our local equine vet about injections for Lindy, I've never known a mare to be in season so much, I hate it, she has shocking ADD when she's in season too. God how I love geldings!!!:D
