Okay, so these were taken in the fall/winter of '05, and I am way out of practice. I haven't had a lesson with my jumper trainer in probably about a month. But here are some photos. I'm riding a horse boarded at my trainer's barn who he sometimes uses in lessons for people who don't have a horse to trailer over (my horse is just learning to jump anyway). He's gorgeous though. His name is Bob, he's a Thoroughbred, and that's about all I know. He was sold in February, and I'm not sure how much the woman got for him but I believe she bought him for $40,000 awhile ago. :D he's great.

Critique away!

and sorry for the quality - it's from a video - I took pictures of the video on my TV.

I know I'm jumping ahead in some of them. It was hard adjusting to his jump, because he had so much more power than I was used to with riding other horses. So he would kinda launch me out of the saddle. And I'm still working on my releases. :D

I think you look great - as you said you're jumping ahead in a couple of them but I can't see anything apart from that. Your release is way better than mine!

Only thing is i'd pick your hands up a bit on the flat ones and have more bend in your elbows. Nice pics and nice horse, he really uses his hocks doesn't he! :)

i like you leg and seat position, but i think you're folding too much with your upper body, try to stay more upright.

i agree with laura about raising your hands and bending your elbow and also that you're a bit ahead in some of the piccies.

i know what you mean about being launched out of the saddle! my horse does the same.

I would say you need to loosen your elbows up a little bit and you may find this will correct the fault with your fold
